My Alma Mater

I am grateful and will always be, to be chosen to spend most of my teenage years in the most prestige boarding school ever. To be honest, when I received the offer letter to further my studies there,( I received 2 other offers, one from Royal Millitary College (RMC) and the other Sek. Sultan Abdul Halim)I think my father's the one who overly excited. Frankly at that time, I dun have any idea about Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK). My father is the one who persuade me to accept MCKK's offer and I do still remember his words "Sekolah tu anak raja je pergi dulu-dulu". Well for a 12 years old boy whose real passion is playing football, I just dun give a fuss.

Everything changes when I stepped at the Prep School for the first time. Overwhelmed by the excitement, sad (first time in my life to live separated from my family. 13 years old maa), curious about the life ahead and scared if I'd let my family's hope down. There we were tought not only from academic aspect but on how to manage our own life, how to live independently, team work (I like to use Esprit de Corp) love your school, love your country(okay okay I just made this up but it rhymes rite? :D) Study smart, play hard.

The bond between the collegian never cease and that's why Malay College Old Boys Association (MCOBA)
which celebrating its 75th Annivesary in 2004, is now among the most active alumni in Malaysia. (Err I didn't regiter yet but as long as you've graduated from the college, u r an old boy). As my batch, 89-93, XVIIIth Thoroughbred, we do keep in touch thru our own yahoo group and every thursday nite, there will be a futsal session for these veterans :))

Now, it's almost 13 years since I left the school. I still can remember most of my schooling days there. It will never left me and I will cherish the memories as long as I live. Like they said, memories can't be ignored.
